A study of the evolution of fishes and the diversity of their structural adaptations to a wide range of habitats. Topics may also include locomotion, respiration, osmoregulation, growth and metabolism, reproduction and development, aquaculture, commercial and recreational fishing. Laboratories will focus on the functional anatomy and identification of fishes, but aspects of fish physiology and behaviour will also be investigated. Prerequisite: BI256 (or BI253). Exclusion: BI462. 3 lecture hours, 3 lab hours.
